Ponagar Tower

Located on a small hill at the mouth of the Cai River at Nha Trang, the temple Po Nagar is named for a goddess of local origin who is said to have created the earth, eaglewood, and rice. The temple was built during the Hindu period of Champa, and thus the image of the goddess takes the form of Uma, wife of Siva.
Po Nagar is now used by Vietnamese, who have dressed the goddess in Buddhist robes. The temple is also popular with tourists, and the parking lot for tour buses is small and crowded. A small fee is charged for entry.

Cai River

Weaving - Mat house

The village path leads us to the home of one family who weave mats from rushes which grow abundantly in the surrounding area. Two people working together will weave just four mat in a day, which will be taken to the local market and traded for food and other essentials.

Loc Tho Pagoda

This place of worship offers also shelter for orphans and those children not as privileged to sustain and being properly supported by their families. Touring this holy site will include taking a peek into the daily lives of these youngsters and how they are supported by local nuns and voluntary teachers from across the region.
